About this tool
Enter a color in any notation and read it back in the other two: HEX, rgb() and hsl(), each copyable in one click. The palette below it generates five tints toward white and five shades toward black around your color, with the base swatch marked, so a single brand color becomes a usable scale.
Input is accepted as #rgb, #rrggbb, #rrggbbaa, rgb()/rgba() or hsl()/hsla(). An alpha channel is tolerated on input but ignored — the output is always opaque — and unparseable input is reported rather than silently producing a broken color.
Checking a pair of colors for accessibility is a separate tool: see the Contrast Checker.
