About this tool

Enter text to compute MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512 and Keccak-512 digests simultaneously, each copyable in one click. Input is treated as UTF-8, so the MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 values match what md5sum, sha256sum and openssl dgst produce for the same string.

The fifth digest is original Keccak-512, which is the row the interface still labels SHA-3. The two are not interchangeable: NIST changed the padding rule when it standardised Keccak as SHA-3 in FIPS 202, so Keccak-512 and SHA3-512 give completely different output for the same input, and this value will not match openssl dgst -sha3-512.

Note that MD5 and SHA-1 are broken for collision resistance and should not be used for signatures or integrity guarantees against an adversary; they remain useful for checksums and for verifying legacy values.
